10-year jail term for care home manager

A nurse who ran a care home has been jailed for 10 years for killing one of her elderly residents. The court heard how Rachel Baker gave 97 year old Lucy Cox lethal doses of medication at the Parkfields home near Glastonbury.

In an unprecendented police investigation, detectives originally examined the deaths of 12 residents - Baker was eventually found guilty of killing just one. Sentencing her for manslaughter, the judge said she'd lived a life of lies, forgery and deceit.
